Job Title: Finance Lawyer

Eximius Law is seeking a highly skilled Finance Lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our Fund Finance Desk, you will be responsible for providing legal services to our clients and ensuring that their financial transactions are conducted in a compliant and risk-managed manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice to clients on financial transactions, including loans, facility agreements, and security documents.
  • Manage the provision of external legal support to ensure that external advisers are duly appointed and that the business can place appropriate reliance on them.
  • Negotiate and finalize transaction documents in conjunction with external advisers and the relevant deal team.
  • Ensure that transactions comply with relevant credit or investment committee sanctions and are in accordance with the business's policies.
  • Actively manage the negotiation and execution of deals from a legal documentation perspective and manage various stakeholders on the Desk and within the business.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of legal relationships in relevant jurisdictions to ensure appropriate management and mitigation of legal risk.
  • Assist in the structuring of transactions and the documenting of credit and investment proposals.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures relevant to the Fund Finance Desk.
  • Build and establish a strong role on the Fund Finance Desk and provide formal and informal training on relevant legal aspects.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage the legal risk being run by the Fund Finance Desk and report legal risk in accordance with the business's risk reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the structuring of new transactions and strategies being undertaken by the Fund Finance Desk and the wider global fund finance business.
  • Help to develop and maintain appropriate best practice guidelines for the Fund Finance Desk from a legal risk and transaction management perspective.
