We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PRU Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) School in Lewisham.

About the Role

As a PRU Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in helping students aged 11–16 develop essential life skills, with the goal of supporting their reintegration into mainstream schools.

The ideal candidate will have strong behaviour management skills and experience working in a PRU or Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting. Previous experience with mentoring KS4 & KS5 students, ideally in English or Maths, is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in supporting students with challenging behaviour
  • Mitigate challenging behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
