Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Procurement Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in overseeing contributions from various departments related to the tendering and procurement process, ensuring high-quality subcontractor procurement that aligns with multiple tenders and pre-construction service agreements across the region.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Collaborating closely with the commercial manager to establish work package breakdowns, inclusions, current construction methodologies, and scheduling procurement streams for each package based on the contract program.
  • Developing procurement strategies for each work package, from creation to order placement and site commencement.
  • Engaging with the subcontractor supply chain to ensure that pricing timelines align with the procurement program.
  • Evaluating subcontractor submissions to confirm that all relevant elements are included according to project design specifications.
  • Managing subcontractor relationships, promoting collaborative efforts with trusted partners, and exploring potential new relationships within our supply chain.

Candidate Profile:

This position is ideal for a seasoned professional at the Senior Quantity Surveyor level who prefers to concentrate on procurement rather than project surveying. The role offers the flexibility to work between the office and home as agreed with the commercial manager. This opportunity is well-suited for you if:

  • You are a qualified construction quantity surveyor with experience in Tier 1 Main Contractor environments.
  • You possess substantial experience and knowledge in managing pre-construction commercial aspects of large two-stage design and build contracts.
  • You have a strong understanding of the local subcontractor supply chain across various relevant disciplines, including groundworks, civils, frames, cladding, roofing, internals, and finishing.
