Security Leadership Opportunity at Amazon

Amazon is seeking a Senior Security Architect to join our AppSec organization. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with software development teams to ensure the security of our innovative services.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and maintaining threat models for various software projects.
  2. Conducting manual and automated secure code reviews, primarily in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  3. Designing and implementing security automation tools.
  4. Performing adversarial security analysis using cutting-edge tools.
  5. Providing security training and outreach to internal development teams.
  6. Offering security architecture and design guidance.
  7. Independently solving complex security problems.

Requirements include:

  1. BS in Computer Science or related field, with 13+ years of experience in application security, offensive security, and/or systems security.
  2. Understanding of threat modeling, manual source code review, security vulnerabilities, and attacker exploit techniques.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  4. Ability to drive multiple complex security reviews, while providing security guidance to stakeholders and working with autonomy.

Preferred qualifications include:

  1. Excellent judgment in assessing and prioritizing technical risk.
  2. Strong application security background with a focus on scalable solutions.
  3. Experience building and securing complex AWS architecture.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to identify and remove bottlenecks for teammates, both in process and technology.
