Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust as a specialist nurse in breast cancer care. The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for healthcare professionals, patients, and carers on breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Work collaboratively with the breast clinical nurse specialists (BCNS) team to enhance breast cancer services within the trust.
  • Provide comprehensive wound assessments, management, and telephone consultations to patients, reducing the need for out-patient appointments or GP visits.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure patient advocacy and quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with post-basic qualification in breast cancer or relevant subject.
  • Strong evidence of continual professional development and commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as a team member, and lead change initiatives.
  • Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and its role across the UK.
