Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a 2-form entry Primary School in Central Bristol.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with KS2 pupils who require additional support due to SEND needs, such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to these students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support to students with SEND needs, including 1:1 and small group work
  • Collaborate with the Class Teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure consistency and progress
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the school's SEND policy
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in SEND support and contribute to the school's professional development

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND needs, ideally in a primary school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
