Middlesex Partnership, a leading overseas bank in the City, seeks an approved SMF16/SMF17 to head up their team with potential for Chief of Compliance role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and manage regulatory risk and financial crime vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure systems and internal controls measure and manage risks effectively.
  • Provide an in-house compliance service supporting business areas in duty to comply with laws and regulations.

To achieve this, you will maintain high awareness of regulatory and financial crime matters, identify potential areas of vulnerability, and conduct regular risk assessments on customer base and products offered.

Designing and Implementing Controls:
  • Develop, initiate, and revise policies, procedures, and mitigating controls to protect against regulatory and financial crime risks.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of systems and controls in managing exposure to risks.

You will monitor performance of compliance and financial crime prevention program, taking steps to improve its effectiveness. You will also respond to alleged violations of rules and regulations, and provide reports to keep senior management informed of compliance efforts.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or above in a legal or business-related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in corporate/institutional banking compliance role within the financial industry.

This is a full-time position offering a highly competitive salary package based on experience, commensurate with market rates in London.
