Job Title: School Culinary Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Director to oversee the preparation of meals, manage food service operations, and supervise kitchen staff within a school setting.

Responsibilities:
  1. Culinary Operations Management: Ensure the preparation, cooking, portioning, and presentation of meals meet defined standards and costings.
  2. School Food Quality Enhancement: Enhance the school's reputation for food quality and service by consistently delivering high standards.
  3. Food Service Management: Conduct all food service operations in accordance with school policy and procedure, and the terms of the contract.
  4. Financial Oversight: Administer unit controls, keep records, and ensure proper returns are completed within budget limits.
  5. Purchasing and Maintenance: Purchase materials, consumables, non-consumables, and light equipment according to school purchasing policy and procedures, and maintain the catering premises and equipment as per the contract.
  6. Reporting and Planning: Produce cost/sales analyses when required, report regularly to the Business Manager, and plan menus and order foodstuffs and light equipment in accordance with school policies.
  7. Hygiene Compliance: Apply the school's personal and food hygiene policy and procedures continuously, ensuring no breaches of statutory or other regulations.
  8. Clerical Activities: Carry out clerical activities related to unit controls, records, wages, and compile returns on due dates.
  9. Financial Accountability: Account for all money spent and received, and all stock purchased and used, providing supporting receipts.

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience. To achieve this higher salary, you will need to demonstrate your ability to meet the key criteria of the role through past experience and during the interview process.
