Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiology Specialist to join our team in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Pembrokeshire. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for supporting breast services and contributing to the wider workload of the department.

Main Responsibilities

This appointment is Health Board-wide, and the successful candidate will work closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. The main duties of the job include:

  • Supporting breast services by reporting on imaging studies and providing expert advice to clinicians
  • Contributing to the development of radiological services across the Health Board, including general radiology, second-on-call rotas, and teaching radiology trainees
  • Reporting radiographers, undergraduate students, and other hospital staff

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Relevant Higher Degree (e.g., PhD; MSc; MRCP)
  • Expertise, competence, and experience in General Radiology
  • Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and participation in CPD
  • More than four years of post-graduation clinical experience, with two years of experience in radiology
  • Experience of NHS and wider experience, research, and training in providing subspecialty services
  • Evidence of above-average performance
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £83,353 per annum, which is competitive with similar positions in the UK. In addition to your salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension, life assurance, and annual leave.
