Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contractor Repair Manager - Site Operations to join our team at Polypipe Building Products. As a key member of our site operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment and machinery across our site, while supervising a team to achieve overall customer requirements and full compliance with company and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Operations Management: Supervise, control, and prioritize all service activities to ensure efficient and effective site operations.
- Team Supervision: Supervise staff to ensure compliance with company procedures, including effective control of staff, attendance at work, and adherence to our ways of working.
- Reporting and Communication: Perform daily briefings to the team and supply regular written reports to the wider department.
- Resource Planning: Assist in ensuring efficient and effective manpower and resource planning and control.
- Contractor Management: Manage contractors in delivering services onsite and ensure full compliance with relevant site safety rules.
- Training and Competence: Identify and review training and maintenance of staff competence.
- Breakdown Diagnostics and Repairs: Coordinate and support with breakdown diagnostics, repairs, and corrective maintenance.
- Engineering Stores Management: Manage the engineering stores and identify gaps in criticality of provision.
- Data Collection and KPI Reporting: Contribute to the collection of data and the generation of KPI reporting.
Requirements:
- Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management at all levels.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to understand and follow specific drawings instructions and procedures.
- Diagnostic Skills: Ability to diagnose faults on a wide range of engineering equipment, including electrical fixed wiring systems, PLC and drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, pumps, and mechanical drive systems.
- Health and Safety: Practical knowledge of key H&S legislation, including HASAWA, LOLER, PUWER, and IEEE regulations.
- Education and Qualifications: Time served apprentice in an engineering subject, minimum HNC or equivalent, and ILM Level 3 in supervisory management or equivalent experience.
- WCM Training: WCM trained (or willing to be trained).

- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
- Salary: £46,800 per annum.
