Senior Waterway Development Engineer

Black Fox Solutions is seeking a Senior Waterway Development Engineer to join their team in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Civil Engineer to support the development, design, and construction of new and refurbishment projects related to the inland waterway system.
Key Responsibilities- Civil and Structural Design:
- Conduct surveys, inspections, and evaluations of potential projects, followed by report writing.
- Prepare feasibility studies, designs, drawings, tenders, and contract documents.
- Supervise site works.
- Contribute to the delivery of capital works and maintenance programs.
- Assist in managing and monitoring projects within budget, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Environmental Management:
- Collaborate with environmental bodies to agree on environmental requirements.
- Ensure environmental legislation and directives are considered in project designs.
- Health and Safety:
- Understand relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and ensure compliance in all activities.
- Adhere to the organisation's Health and Safety policy.
- Integrate health and safety considerations into project designs.
- Strategic Contributions:
- Assist in the development and implementation of organisational policies, strategies, and standards.
- Provide information for financial and progress reporting on projects under your control.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Work effectively with engineering team members and supervise staff when necessary.
- Foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.
- Liaise with other sections within the organisation, as well as with community, local organisations, and statutory authorities.
- General Duties:
- Handle tasks assigned by Senior Management and the Chief Executive.
- Address queries forwarded to the organisation.
- Represent the organisation at meetings/functions during and outside normal working hours.
- Undertake required training and promote organisational policies on equality.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in civil and structural design, particularly in the context of waterway development.
- Strong knowledge of environmental management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The salary for this role is £34,524 - £35,712 per annum, depending on experience.
