Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Leeds. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide timely and commercial legal advice to support the ENGIE UK business. Your expertise will be essential in negotiating and drafting commercial and contractual matters, including tenders, projects, construction contracts, and supply chain negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support on complex commercial outsource transactions, supporting the ENGIE UK business.
  • Offer commercial legal advice to operational teams on appropriate strategies in relation to disputes.
  • Assist in the governance of transactions at local and group level.
  • Manage external legal resources on particular projects.
  • Support ENGIE UK Ethics policies compliance.
Requirements
  • Good knowledge of relevant areas of law, including outsourcing, construction, and commercial contract.
  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to deal with risk management, governance, and compliance.
  • UK (or common law equivalent) qualified solicitor or barrister with ideally 6 years or greater, PQE.
