About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planning Specialist to join our engineering and maintenance team at Tarmac. The successful candidate will be responsible for adopting and deploying mechanical planning methods in line with our Maintenance Strategy and utilizing our CMMS to develop WO task steps, estimate resource requirements, and assign necessary equipment/materials/spares for efficient and safe maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maximize productivity of processes, making cost-effective use of resources, products, and equipment.
  • Develop Planned Maintenance and Lubrication schedules with the Engineering Manager and Mechanical Inspector.
  • Ensure that all necessary materials, spares, and tools are available in designated locations for planned operations, meeting required quantity and quality expectations, and minimizing execution resource deployment to stores/workshops.
  • Define estimated task duration and costs for all work orders and develop detailed job plans to optimize resource deployment and support monthly spend analysis.
  • Maintain and update information and data in the CMMS, adhering to the Maintenance Workflow.
  • Plan major equipment annual overhauls and adhere to annual maintenance outage plans.
  • Create shutdown programs, including financial detail, and support shutdown management and contractor supervision during major repair periods.
  • Produce tender specifications in line with Tarmac standards for engineering services and spares.
  • Manage general and specific technical documentation in the technical library, equipment codification, and records to ensure historical data is available.
  • Maintain Health and Safety rules and regulations, ensuring all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with, leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors.
  • Manage and develop third-party relationships, ensuring effective service contracts are in place and demonstrate best value.

About You

The successful applicant will have experience as an Engineering (Supervisor or Planner) / Maintenance (Supervisor or Planner) within a similar heavy manufacturing industry. Essential qualifications include Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems knowledge, with an understanding of electrical systems, and a recognized apprenticeship or BEng. Technical knowledge of preventive, predictive, and systematic maintenance, as well as computer literacy, is also required.
