Job Description

As a Database Solutions Architect, you will work closely with our DevOps and Engineering teams to deliver and support database solutions for our identity assurance products.

Your primary focus will be on installing, maintaining, and supporting MySQL databases primarily, with the ability to also provide support for Oracle databases running on various on-premise and cloud-based platforms.

You will collaborate with the DevOps, Support, and Professional Services teams as needed for database-level input and support.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Database Administration role
  • Strong working experience with MySQL and Oracle databases
  • Practical experience in installing, monitoring, and supporting production databases running on AWS EC2 and RDS
  • Linux/Unix/Windows experience is also beneficial
  • Knowledge of AWS Aurora (MySQL-compatible) would be advantageous
  • Experience in large-scale data migrations, upgrades, archives, and backup and recovery strategies is essential
  • Particular expertise in partitioning strategies and knowledge of large-scale data replication technologies like AWS DMS or Oracle Goldengate would be highly valued
  • Familiarity with high availability, active-active, and scalability solutions like Oracle RAC, Oracle DataGuard, MySQL group replication would be an advantage
  • Strong performance tuning and general database problem troubleshooting experience across all databases and operating system platforms
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and SQL scripting with experience in PL/SQL and shell scripting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
