Engineering Manager Opportunity

A leading Worcestershire-based company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team due to growth. The company is a renowned manufacturer of engineered products for the automotive and transportation markets, working with a diverse range of sectors including Rail, Defence, Automotive, and Aerospace.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the Production Engineering and Design Departments, ensuring effective application of technical disciplines and governance.
  2. Participate in project management, covering all aspects of product realization and manufacture.
  3. Lead Design Reviews, promoting adherence to design and regulatory requirements, and ensuring these are embedded into manufacturing processes and products.
  4. Act as the primary point of contact for customers during engineering phases, managing engineering drawings, BOMs, delivery schedules, and customer specifications.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
  1. HNC/HND/degree in a manufacturing or mechanical engineering discipline.
  2. Membership of a relevant engineering institution (IMechE, IET, etc.).
Essential Experience:
  1. Current experience in a similar position, industry, and engineering environment.
  2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  3. Strong background and experience in document and data control.
  4. Quality awareness and experience working in a customer-focused environment.
  5. Strong IT skills, data entry, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Experience in supporting capital expenditure, investment programs, and optimizing working capital usage.
  7. Planning experience, NPI, and product life cycle.
  8. Experience working in industries such as Defence, Aerospace, Rail, and application of Def-Stan/Mil-Std, and RIS.
  9. Membership of a relevant engineering institution (IMechE, IET, etc.).
