We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our production unit, you will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the efficient operation of our plastics moulding machinery.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out tool changes and settings for plastics moulding machinery, including Extrusion Blow moulding or Injection Moulding.
- Conduct fault finding on machinery, identifying mechanical faults, setup issues, ancillary equipment settings, and production quality issues.
- Report machine stoppages and faults to the Supervisor and raise maintenance work orders as necessary.
- Perform regular safety checks on all machines and equipment, addressing any non-compliance.
- Complete quality control checks every 2 hours and ensure all production checks and documentation are accurately filled out.
- Discuss and implement corrective actions when products do not meet specifications.
- Ensure tool changes, colour changes, and other adjustments are carried out following training procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain machines running correctly and safely according to the programme and with the correct materials.
- Perform line clearances at every changeover in line with company procedures.
- Keep the work area safe, clean, and tidy during and at the end of the shift.
- Experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment, preferably with plastics moulding machinery.
- Ability to identify and resolve mechanical faults and production issues.
- Knowledge of safety standards and quality control processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with supervisors and maintenance staff.
- Flexibility to work on a rotating shift basis.
