About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Specialist to join our client's maintenance team at their oil and gas terminal in Bacton. This is a 6-month contract position operating on a 7 days on, 7 days off shift rotation with 12-hour shifts.

The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a multi-skilled team to safely operate and maintain the terminal within established operational and maintenance procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maximising plant availability through effective preventative maintenance
  • Performing breakdown repairs in a timely manner
  • Completing weekly maintenance routines as defined in Maximo and ensuring accurate job documentation
  • Acting as a Performing Authority and Isolating Authority as required
  • Assisting with projects and working with vendors and sub-contractors when necessary
Safety Critical Tasks

The successful candidate must have experience with the following safety-critical tasks:

  • Shutdown/Blowdown Valves
  • Extinguishant Systems
  • Fire & Gas Systems, Hardware, Operation, and Testing
  • Fixed & Portable Analysers
  • Level Indicators, Switches, and Transmitters
  • Pressure Indicators, Switches, and Transmitters
  • Safety Instrumented Systems - Operation & Testing
  • Temperature Elements, Switches, and Transmitters
  • Nucleonic Devices
  • Control of Ignition
  • Performing Authority (Permit to Work)
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A time-served trade apprenticeship in instrumentation
  • An HNC qualification in a relevant subject
  • Compex certification or completion during probationary period
  • Desirable: Compression fittings and small-bore tubing training
