Job Title: Orthopaedic Team Leader

Spire Healthcare is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Team Leader to join our theatre department on a full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing a dedicated team and working closely with a Theatre Manager and another Ortho team leader.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for service improvement and be driven to succeed within their career. You will be responsible for supporting the Theatre Manager in leading, teaching, and appraising staff to ensure development needs are identified and met. This will involve implementing personal development plans to meet ongoing development needs.

You will also be responsible for supervising and educating junior staff, RGNs, ODPs, and carrying out clinical supervision. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall advancement of the Operating Department to promote excellence in clinical care.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse or operating department practitioner with experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision. Previous leadership experience would be an advantage, but we offer award-winning training and CPD. You must be passionate and driven, with the ability to demonstrate your dynamic thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Theatre Manager in leading, teaching, and appraising staff
  • Implement personal development plans to meet ongoing development needs
  • Supervise and educate junior staff, RGNs, ODPs, and carry out clinical supervision
  • Contribute to the overall advancement of the Operating Department
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise

Requirements:

  • Registered nurse or operating department practitioner
  • Experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision
  • Previous leadership experience would be an advantage
  • HCPC or NMC registration
  • At least 2 years ortho scrub experience
