About Our Opportunity

Currie & Brown is providing exciting graduate opportunities in quantity surveying in our office.

As a graduate quantity surveyor, you will have the chance to participate in various projects, including education and housing in the private and public sectors.

We are looking for exceptional graduates from all degree backgrounds who aspire to be leaders in a construction consultancy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in projects from the beginning, the role is diverse and no two projects are the same.
  • Managing relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Engaging in individual study outside of work hours to achieve chartered surveyor status.

Requirements

  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to establish relationships with professionals at all levels.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Will to travel for project assignments across various UK locations, with the base location remaining constant.
  • Commitment to the company's rigorous training program.
  • Organizational ability, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Training and Progression (APC Program)

We will provide training through our structured industry-leading RICS APC program. With your dedication and our support, you will become a chartered surveyor in a minimum of two years, with longer training if a conversion course is required.

The company seeks to produce high-calibre practitioners through its rigorous program. As a trainee, you will commit to ongoing studying and document preparation, with regular assessments to ensure progress and identify areas for further study or support.

The APC program includes:

  • Self-study outside of work hours.
  • Bonus payment upon completion of the APC.
  • Mentorship from an experienced colleague.
  • Training sessions with an external APC coach.
  • Quarterly assessments.
  • Counseling in soft skills.
  • Individual face-to-face and telephone support in the six months leading up to the final assessment.

Post-APC Program Development

Upon gaining chartership, you can join a formal development program designed to shift the focus of learning towards commerciality, leadership, and business development.
