About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fibre Network Specialist to join our team at M Group Services Limited T/A Morrison Telecom Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fibre optic networks. This is an exciting opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects that enable fast and reliable broadband connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and test fibre optic cables to ensure high-quality connectivity.
  • Splice fibre cables to meet stringent quality standards.
  • Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on fibre networks to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and coordinators to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including job packs and as-built drawings.
  • Achieve and maintain health and safety standards in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Perform civil work tasks, such as working in confined spaces and at heights when required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in fibre engineering, ideally in FTTP network installations.
  • A valid clean UK driving license (no more than 6 points, with no disqualifications required for fleet van insurance).
  • Ability to interpret utility maps and diagrams to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong understanding of fibre optic networks and splicing techniques to ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Physically fit, as the role involves manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in fibre optics or telecommunications (desirable but not essential).
  • NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) certification (advantageous).
  • Confined space training and first aid certification are beneficial.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 4% matched pension scheme, and many more.
