Job Description

Steer Automotive Group is a dynamic and rapidly expanding automotive repair business dedicated to delivering exceptional results. We are seeking a skilled MET (Mechanical, Electrical, Trim) Technician to join our successful team at our Bourne site.

As an MET Technician with Steer, you will be responsible for repairing vehicles to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with the Parts Team to ensure that our customers receive top-notch service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out all necessary mechanical and bodywork on allocated jobs.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Dismantle vehicles ready for the panel shop and reassemble to pre-accident condition.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately diagnose and repair problems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.


To succeed in this role, you must have strong knowledge and experience as an MET Technician or mechanic from an accident repair background. You should have high attention to detail and be able to work skilfully and safely under pressure. A key aspect of this role is your ability to plan your workload effectively to ensure vehicles are ready to agreed timescales. Additionally, you must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
