Senior Piping Engineer

In this role, you will oversee a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.
- Proactively engage with team members' development through competency development/assessment and feedback.
- Coordinate with design on constructability issues.
- Review material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
- Possess responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting, and forecasting.
- Ensure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Coordinate between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover.
- Review and approve inspection test plans.
- Coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:- Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
- Experience in inspection and certifying piping installation by contractors.
- Experience in brown field work & pressure testing of piping.
- Knowledge of Indian standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction activities.
- Familiar with Bechtel's Business Ethics handbook and policies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
- Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
- Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.
