Cyber Security Analyst Job Description

Option One Technologies is a next-generation managed IT and cloud platform that democratizes the best-in-class technology for financial services and institutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join our team. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in protecting our organization's and clients' digital assets from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client IT Policy Management:
  • Work closely with clients to create and update their IT policies
  • Ensure policies align with industry best practices and compliance requirements
  • Regularly review and revise policies to address evolving technological and security landscapes
Security Awareness and Training:
  • Manage and run KnowBe4 phishing campaign simulations for clients
  • Generate and analyze reports from phishing simulations to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive cybersecurity awareness training programs for client end-users
  • Tailor training content to address specific client needs and industry requirements
Vulnerability Assessment and Management:
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on behalf of clients
  • Analyze assessment results and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk level
  • Provide recommendations for remediation and assist in implementing security patches and updates
  • Track and report on vulnerability management progress
SOC Monitoring and Incident Response:
  • Oversee Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring activities for clients
  • Analyze security alerts and logs to identify potential security incidents
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, determining their scope and impact
  • Develop and maintain incident response procedures
  • Provide post-incident reports and recommendations for security improvements
Network Security Management:
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain client network environments, focusing on security aspects
  • Work with various network security platforms including Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • Implement and fine-tune security measures within these network environments
  • Conduct regular security audits of network configurations
Endpoint Security Management:
  • Manage antivirus solutions for client endpoints using CrowdStrike
  • Ensure timely updates and proper configuration of CrowdStrike across client environments
  • Monitor and respond to endpoint security alerts and incidents
  • Provide recommendations for improving endpoint security posture
Threat Intelligence and Reporting:
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and vulnerabilities
  • Analyze threat intelligence feeds and reports to identify potential risks to clients
  • Prepare and deliver security status reports to clients and management
  • Provide actionable intelligence to relevant stakeholders to enhance security posture
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Assist in ensuring client compliance with relevant security standards and regulations
  • Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incidents, and remediation efforts
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and mitigation strategies
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as KnowBe4, CrowdStrike, and SIEM systems
  • Familiarity with network security platforms (Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
  • Experience in vulnerability assessment and management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or GIAC
  • Experience in a managed services or IT consulting environment
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies
  • Experience in conducting security awareness training programs

Working Hours: 8 AM to 4 PM EST (New York Time)

This role requires a dedicated and versatile cybersecurity professional who can manage a wide range of security responsibilities while working directly with clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cybersecurity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to the varying needs of different client environments.
