Workshop Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Tool Hire Workshop Fitter at Jewson, Daventry.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong mechanical background and excellent communication skills. As a Tool Hire Workshop Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our tool hire equipment, resolving issues, and ensuring that our tools are ready for rehire.
You will work closely with our branch network to understand their requirements and maximize sales growth. This role involves regular contact with our branches, and you will play a crucial part in delivering an exceptional customer experience by sourcing and locating required tools for hire.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop
- Resolve issues and make ready for rehire
- Use our in-house systems to process and locate tools for hire, organize tool hire collection and delivery
- Collaborate with the wider network to support customer requirements and business activities
- Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth
- Support the Workshop Driver by covering their absence and driving 3.5t, collecting and delivering tools across the cluster for our tool hire departments
We are looking for someone with a reasonable level of fitness due to the weight and size of our tools. Industry experience is not essential, but some mechanical knowledge would be preferable. A full clean driving license is also required.
Toll Hire or Mechanical or Electrical repair experience, good geographical knowledge of the local area, and a full clean driving license are essential for this role.
