About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team on a long-term basis in an Alternative Provision setting in Sheffield. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting students who have struggled in mainstream education, working closely with small groups and individuals to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored lessons and interventions in line with the individual needs of the students.
  • Support classroom teachers in planning and assessment.
  • Manage behaviour in line with the school's policies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students to help them achieve their potential.
  • Provide mentoring and pastoral support to students.

Requirements
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualifications.
  • Previous experience working in an Alternative Provision or SEN setting is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people who have complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • The ability to adapt and think on your feet in a dynamic and challenging environment.
