About Your New Role

Our Litigation team at Weightmans is a leading provider of commercial litigation services to a diverse range of clients, including large corporates, owner-managed businesses, public bodies, insurers, regulatory bodies, and private individuals. Our team of experienced lawyers regularly handle complex, high-profile, and sensitive issues across a broad range of litigation with far-reaching implications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist senior lawyers with their caseloads, including proactive management of cases with limited supervision.
  • Prepare advice and reports as required, utilizing strong analytical and research skills.
  • Draft and perform legal research and investigations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attend conferences, court hearings, and client meetings, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, counsel, and other parties, ensuring seamless case management.
  • Contribute to business development and profile-raising initiatives, aligning with relevant industry segments and sectors.
  • Complete client and internal management information procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Achieve set financial and chargeable targets, demonstrating commercial acumen and a client-focused approach.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and quality measures, upholding Weightmans' values and standards.

About You

  • Bring a broad experience of commercial litigation, with a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and technical ability.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of achievement, with a focus on delivering effective solutions and meeting deadlines.
  • Show a commercial, solution-driven, and client-focused approach, with excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Exhibit strong legal and analytical skills, with an eye for detail and a flexible approach to working.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative.
