Job Title: Machine Learning Research Engineer with a Focus on System Infrastructure

About the Role:
IC Resources is seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Research Engineer to join our client's research team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects at the intersection of systems engineering and machine learning, contributing to the future of data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and prototype development focusing on the integration of machine learning within system infrastructures.
  • Contribute to system design, analysis, and development of solutions, with a strong focus on machine learning applications.
  • Design and implement key technologies and algorithms related to time series analysis, optimisation, and machine learning systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance system performance in data center and cloud applications.
  • Engage with academic and industry leaders, and contribute to open-source projects to help shape the technological landscape.

Requirements:
  • PhD in operating systems, distributed systems, machine learning, or a related discipline.
  • Top publications focused on systems (NSDI, EuroSys, SoCC, OSDI etc.) and ML (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
  • Strong knowledge of system design and implementation for machine learning workloads.
  • Expertise in operating systems, distributed systems, cloud computing, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C/C++, Go, or Python.
