Kitchen Service Assistant

We are seeking a diligent Kitchen Porter to join our team at Oxford Brookes University. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to work closely with our chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
The salary for this role is £12.00 per hour, with a 20-hour working week. Key responsibilities of the Kitchen Porter role include:
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
- Assisting chefs with food preparation and presentation.
- Ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen facilities, including ordering supplies and managing inventory.
- Providing excellent customer service to our clients and colleagues.
Requirements for the role include:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
