Technical and Compliance Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Property Solicitor to join our team as a Technical and Compliance Manager. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who is passionate about contributing to the success and growth of a well-respected legal practice.

About the Role

The Technical and Compliance Manager will oversee and manage the technical legal advice program across all transactional teams, providing expert guidance, support, and supervision of legal work. This includes ensuring that the firm's operations and employees comply with all applicable laws, regulations, protocols, and best practices specific to the conveyancing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the improvement of quality control systems, introducing a robust peer-to-peer review process and enhancing the technical competencies of staff.
  • Mentor and lead a team of qualified and qualifying lawyers, supporting their professional development and career progression.
  • Attend trade seminars and events, building a profile for the firm as a leading technical expert in the field, while driving the growth of the sale and purchase business.
  • Collaborate with the internal IT team to develop the firm's case management system to better support and enhance sale and purchase work.
About You
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience managing a complex caseload of residential conveyancing matters.
  • Strong expertise in residential conveyancing, including the full range of sale, purchase, and remortgage matters.
  • Experience with leasehold and lease extension work, equity release, bridging transactions, SDLT requirements, and unregistered properties.
  • Proven team management skills, with the ability to develop, coach, and mentor team members effectively.
