Role: Part-Time Financial Controller

Position: Part-Time Permanent. Opportunity for Full-Time

Hours: 10am - 3pm (Mon-Fri)

Holidays: 22 days per year (plus Bank Holidays)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This is a newly created role in our business which would be ideally suited to a strong, all-round accountant looking to take ownership of the finances of an SME with big aspirations. You will be involved in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, providing insight and analysis on trends and comparisons to previous year/period. Additionally, you will be involved in the year-end process, financial accounts and financial reporting, proving to be a key ally to the board. Ultimately you will aim to oversee the month-end process, improve systems, processes and procedures, and support the directors on strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present accurate financial reports to senior management.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure timely payments.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Utilise Xero for financial management tasks.
• Provide strategic insights based on financial data analysis to support business decisions.
• Day-to-day financial management.

Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years experience at Financial Controller level.
• Thorough understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Proficient in the use of accounting software (Xero) and spreadsheet applications.
• Highly computer-literate, experience in leveraging software to improve process.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
