Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), contributing to their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting learning materials to suit their individual abilities.
  • Assist with the implementation of behavior management plans, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a sense of belonging and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team to create an inclusive learning environment that supports the diverse needs of all students.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an SEN Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions and strategies to support individual needs or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with SEN.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
