Nuclear Safety Expert Opportunity

At Ebeni Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Nuclear Safety Engineer to lead our nuclear safety initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in safety and risk management to drive excellence in the nuclear industry.

About the Role:

  • Leverage your safety engineering skills to manage and contribute to naval and civil nuclear programmes.
  • Lead tasks and manage smaller projects while undertaking safety engineering activities as defined by Project Safety Plans and in compliance with the principles identified in Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Perform hazard analysis to define safety requirements and detailed systems analysis, to demonstrate that safety requirements can be met.
  • Develop safety arguments and draft safety cases to support assurance and certification activities, including identification of appropriate evidence to show safety arguments are reasonable, well-constructed and justified.
  • Conduct Independent Peer and Periodic Safety Reviews for Nuclear Site Licensees and/or Design Authorities.
  • Provide licensing support in relation to civil and defence nuclear regulations including Safety Assessment Principles (SAP's) and Security Assessment Principles (SyAP's).
  • Undertake safety analysis via application of appropriate regulatory requirements, legislation, tools and techniques.
  • Liaise with system developers, certification bodies, Operators, Operational Engineering, Systems Engineering and Facilities Management as necessary, regarding safety.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in nuclear safety domain, preferably in either the civil or naval nuclear markets.
  • Demonstrable experience of the application of safety and risk engineering processes to identify hazards and vulnerabilities, author safety cases and justifications, assess risk and implement controls to reduce risk to an acceptable level.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring professional communication at all levels.
  • A strong desire to strive for the highest quality standards, focusing on delivery and exceeding expectations.
