VANRATH is pleased to assist a leading organics/waste company in recruiting a Junior Health & Safety Officer. This exciting opportunity allows you to develop your career within a successful and dynamic team. The role can be based in Dunmurry (Belfast) or Keady (Armagh). The salary for this position is approximately £27,000 - £32,000 per year, plus a market-leading benefits package.

Job Description:

This is a unique chance to work in a permanent role with flexible hours from Monday to Friday. Your main responsibilities will include developing and reviewing risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe working procedures across all sites. You will also investigate and report H&S and environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining the root cause and implementing preventative corrective action. Additionally, you will conduct regular audits, inspections, and site visits to monitor compliance and good industry practice.

You will travel between sites regularly and build strong working relationships at all levels to advise on and promote a culture of engagement and continuous improvement in regard to health and safety. You will also develop and deliver internal training, including toolbox talks, safety alerts, and scheduled in-house training on health, safety, and environmental topics.
