Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the North Thames Genomics Laboratory Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality clinical psychology services to individuals within our team, working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments and therapy, offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other professionals. They will also work closely with other teams to develop and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of clients' psychological problems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of clients referred to the team, utilizing complex data from various sources, including psychological tests, self-report measures, and structured interviews.
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for clients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
  3. Work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups.
  4. Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, considering both theoretical and therapeutic models, as well as complex factors related to historical and developmental processes.
  5. Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
  6. Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
  7. Contribute to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
Requirements
  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or its approved equivalent accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council as Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Postgraduate/doctoral training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
  • UKCP, BABCP, or BACP Accreditation (or equivalent).
Salary and Benefits
