Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN Primary and Secondary School in Hemel Hempstead. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties to achieve their full potential.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to students with SEN, working closely with the class teacher to develop and implement personalized learning plans. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student progress and contributing to the overall well-being of the students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting class teachers in the preparation of resources and lesson plans to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Providing one-to-one support to students with SEN, under the supervision of the class teacher, to deliver skills-based learning.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to report on student progress and provide feedback on student learning.
  • Assisting students to develop their independence and self-confidence through the provision of support and guidance.
  • Contributing to the overall well-being of students by providing a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting, preferably in a SEN school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress.
