Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our Antibody Development Platform team. The successful candidate will support antibody discovery within internal New Product Development and external Custom Solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support aspects of the antibody generation process for monoclonal antibody projects using techniques involving: Molecular Biology, ELISA, Mammalian Cell Culture and FACS.
- Use liquid handling automation to support high throughput sampling and assays.
- Contribute to and implement process improvements and optimisation with an operational excellence mindset.
- Work closely with key project stakeholders to relay project progress and delivery dates for key reagents, and contribute to the preparation of customer reports and recommendations.
- Support Data Management by analysing data and recording within electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely manner;
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 operational guidelines, and Health and Safety Procedures
- Contribute to housekeeping tasks ensuring the lab is tidy and continually stocked with key reagents and lab consumables
Requirements
You will be educated to at least degree level in a life sciences-related subject. Our ideal candidate will have some experience working in a scientific industry/lab, have flexibility in the way that they work, being able to work autonomously as well as part of a team while providing high quality standards throughout their work. Prior experience in either molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry or, standard binding assays such as ELISA or HTRF is desirable. Any prior experience in antibody generation for biotech or pharma industries is desirable although not essential.
We are looking for a team player, highly self-motivated, hardworking, with excellent organisational capabilities and deliver results consistently to a high-standard in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills are a must, working accurately to follow both written and verbal instructions, while maintaining detailed records.
