
Healthcare Professional for Inpatient Mental Health

We are recruiting caring and compassionate individuals to support our patients and service users within our Inpatient Mental Health Services.
As a Bank Health Care Support Worker, you will work within a comprehensive range of mental health services, supporting our patients and service users during times of short staffing or increased clinical commitments.
The ideal candidate will have NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience within a care setting and experience of working with service users with mental health problems.

Main Duties- Support service users on their journey through the acute service, implementing individual and group activities under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.
- Assist with the continuity of care for service users on their journey through the acute service.
- Demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users' choice and works alongside them and their carers to ensure they are at the centre of care planning.
- Carry out assigned tasks involving direct/indirect service user care and support service users under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.

Requirements- NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience within a care setting.
- Experience of working with service users with mental health problems.
- Knowledge of Recovery model.
- An understanding of the organisation of nursing care.
- Basic awareness of the Mental Health Act.
- Safeguarding children/vulnerable adults guidelines.
- Overview and knowledge of acute mental health related issues.
- Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting.
- Venepuncture training.
- First Aid.
- CPR training.
