Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HCPC Registered Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Transfusion Laboratory at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the daily management, quality, and training within the Blood Transfusion department at both Royal Sussex County and Princess Royal sites.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain high-quality standards and ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Supervise Biomedical Scientists, trainees, and MLAs, including training of junior staff completing their Registration & Specialist Portfolios.
- Apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge to provide a high-quality and timely result service.
- Communicate effectively with Lead BMSs, the team, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality standards and the efficient running of the service.
- Conduct, co-ordinate, and minute departmental technical meetings as required by the Lead BMS.
