About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Development Engineer to join our team at AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch). As a Systems Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating large-scale cloud computing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new cloud computing systems and services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize system requirements
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and technical guides
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code is delivered
  • Identify and troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions

Requirements

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience in professional software development
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
