Job Title: Embedded Systems Engineer

Join Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe as an Embedded Systems Engineer and be part of a dynamic team that designs and develops cutting-edge embedded systems for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture and analyze requirements for embedded systems, collaborating with stakeholders to identify suitable approaches and architectural solutions.
  • Produce technical documentation to describe system design, creating and maintaining detailed system and software specifications.
  • Design, produce, and maintain embedded code, using model-based design tools and conventions.
  • Plan and undertake verification testing of modules and integrated systems, evaluating the embedded solution and identifying countermeasures.
  • Manage the delivery of embedded systems and software, controlling team plans and schedules, and coordinating with Project Management.
  • Provide necessary information for technical and strategic meetings, working with stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Undertake research and self-study to enhance skills and knowledge, and prepare for career advancement.
  • Research developments in new technology, methods, and industry approaches to improve Embedded Systems processes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members with technical aspects of their work.
  • Arrange, prepare, and maintain prototype samples, tools, and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification in System or Software Engineering, plus 3 years relevant industry experience, or at least 5 years relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Programming and code development practices in Embedded C.
  • Processes, quality systems, and standards for embedded systems and software development IEC.
  • Requirements management, elicitation, and validation.
  • Methods and techniques for system and software architecture and module design.
  • Project management (software development life-cycle).
  • Modelling and Simulation tools and techniques for systems/software engineering Matlab, Simulink.
  • Office applications for report writing and technical documentation.
  • User Interface development.
  • Digital and analogue embedded systems (sensors, display technologies, communication and bus protocols) I2C, LIN.
  • Techniques and methodologies for verification testing.
  • Knowledge of home appliance products would be desirable.
