About the Role

This demanding and challenging role requires a professional who can demonstrate high levels of resilience, excellent problem-solving skills, and exceptional interpersonal abilities. As a successful candidate, you will provide sound clinical and leadership support to team members, promoting a culture of excellence in patient care.

The post holder will be responsible for working closely with colleagues to deliver safe and effective patient care, adhering to guidelines and policies while identifying and managing risk. A strong understanding of Equality and Human Rights principles, as well as experience working with diverse populations, is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the delivery of high-quality patient care on Weaver Ward, ensuring a seamless transition between shifts and maintaining optimal ward operations.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patient conditions, considering complex care options, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
  3. Maintain accurate records, participating in audits and research initiatives to enhance clinical practices and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
  4. Provide coaching, mentorship, and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
  5. Liaise with various agencies, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to promote best practices and advance patient-centered care.
Person Specification
  • Possesses relevant professional qualifications (RMN, AHP, or Social Worker) and holds current registration with the NMC/HCPC.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mental health practice, specifically with adult populations, including experience in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care interventions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to navigate complex clinical scenarios, think critically, and make informed decisions that prioritize patient safety and well-being.
