Job Title: Account Manager - Litigation

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our Litigation and Disputes team at Portland. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving forward day-to-day work on your accounts, providing counsel to clients on day-to-day requests, and ensuring work is delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing monitoring and analysis processes, tracking issues in the media and online, and making proactive, strategic recommendations.
  • Sourcing information and writing briefings using legal documents and additional research.
  • Developing high-quality messaging, writing press statements, opinion articles, website copy, background material, and more.
  • Researching media targets and delivering on media outreach.
  • Strong media relations skills, including drafting press releases, pitching stories, and managing rebuttals and corrections requests.
  • Day-to-day account management, including briefing junior team members and workflows, managing actions trackers, and providing consistent and constructive feedback.
  • Supporting the senior team in project management and strategic direction of accounts.
  • Being actively involved in new business proposals and pitches and researching new targets.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience working full-time in a PR agency or in-house at a relevant organisation.
  • Demonstrate an interest in and understanding of the law, litigation PR, international politics, and reputation management.
  • A degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Internet tools, Microsoft programmes, and digital/audit tools.
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills and attention to detail and experience in managing large datasets.
  • Experience of using social media platforms in a professional capacity.
  • Demonstrable litigation PR experience and understanding of litigation and arbitration.
  • Experience of Public Affairs, politics, and campaigning.
  • Proficient in the use of digital research and analysis tools.
