About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our team at Nationwide. As a key member of our CTO organization, you'll play a critical role in assisting delivery teams in engineering secure solutions and protecting our members' data.

Our approach to security is centered around a systemic concern, where security problems are solved through a holistic approach. You'll work closely with other security engineers to consult on security issues, leveraging your expertise to drive solutions that meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess risk and develop countermeasures to protect member data
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create secure solutions
  • Design and implement cloud native applications in the cloud
  • Develop and maintain security controls in the cloud environment
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud security
Requirements
  • Proven experience in cloud security, with a focus on cloud native applications
  • Strong understanding of threat modeling, security controls, and DevSecOps
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Programming skills in modern languages, with an understanding of software development lifecycle and delivery methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
