About the Field Service Engineer Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer for Scientific Instruments to join our team at Oxford Instruments Plc. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical onsite and remote support and training to customers across our product range of analytical equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform onsite installations of systems and software.
  • Provide user orientation training at point of installation.
  • Resolve instrument breakdowns through onsite assistance.
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve customer issues.
Requirements:

This role requires a Science Degree/PhD preferably in Electronics, Physics, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Chemistry. Experience of running TEM/SEM would be advantageous, but not essential. A sound understanding of electronic pc-based systems and problem-solving abilities are also required.

Salary:

The salary for this role is £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location:

The successful candidate will be based in the North East of the UK, with occasional UK-wide travel required.
