Job Title: Marine Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Civil Engineer to join our Ports and Harbours team in Belfast. As a key member of our Design Service Line, you will be responsible for leading projects and working on analysis and design activities, supervising graduate engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analysis of marine structures, geotechnical interpretation, and general foundation design for clients
  • Leading teams in the areas of retaining wall design, structural design, and production of design reports
  • Supervising more junior staff and reviewing structural designs, specifications, and reinforced concrete detailing packages
  • Preparing and contributing to design reports, reviewing bar bending schedules, and reinforcement detailing
  • Preparation of structural specifications, foundation design, slab and pavement design, retaining wall design, temporary works design, and structural inspections
Requirements:
  • University Degree in civil/structural engineering related discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant design experience, particularly in reviewing structural/geotechnical analyses, reinforced concrete detailing, and material specifications
  • Experience with marine civils structures, retaining wall design software (WALLAP, FREW, Plaxis 2D/3D), and structural software packages (MIDAS MasterSeries)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Highly organised and motivated individual with effective communication skills, a good work ethic, and a commitment to technical excellence, personal efficiency, and career progression through Continued Professional Development
