Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of electrical services installation on our Bournemouth contract. This role requires full responsibility for all personnel working on the contract, ensuring delivery meets required SLA standards while developing strong commercial relationships to expand our local offer.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage day-to-day project delivery on designated projects, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance, and improvement.
  2. Lead commercial management and reporting to line managers.
  3. Promote a 'Safety First' and 'Right First Time' culture across field operations, backed up by plans and engagement with suppliers.
  4. Manage and lead M&E field supervisors responsible for designated projects.
  5. Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, quality failures, and service deterioration trends, taking corrective action where necessary.
  6. Closely work with commercial teams to identify risks impacting budget, supplier costs, or overheads affecting the project.
  7. Monitor suppliers to ensure adherence to MJ Quinn standards and best practices.
  8. Manage staff, oversee work schedules, and assign duties accordingly.
  9. Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients, meeting performance standards and contractual KPIs/SLAs.
  10. Conduct regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to maintain exceptional standards.
  11. Communicate regularly and provide timely reports to Contract Managers, outlining project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  12. Evaluate designs received from clients, including any walkouts with client supervisors.
  13. Overall responsibility for site works, methodology, and program delivery.
  14. Adhere to safety and performance standards.
  15. Collaborate with the team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  16. Represent the department positively, adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  17. Raise and follow up on non-conformance reports to resolve issues identified.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working on NEC 3-4 contracts.
  • Experience in healthcare project delivery from an electrical services perspective.
  • A recognized Building Services Qualification (ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering).
  • Strong programme management skills.
  • An electrical systems background for full understanding of systems for installation on designated projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • A high standard of numeracy.
  • Education to G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in your approach to work.
  • A legal right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check (due to client building visits).
  • A valid UK driving license with no more than 6 points.
