Job Title: Junior Mortgage Underwriter

Salary: £30,000 + Bonus OTE £42,000-£50,000

Our client, a specialist mortgage brokerage, is seeking a mortgage underwriter who can advise customers on the best mortgage products, mainly working on second charge mortgages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess loan applications in line with credit policy and ensure all details are correct and in line with regulations.
  • Evaluate and escalate any fraudulent activity.
  • Participate in improving systems and processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with any regulation changes.
  • Calculate loan repayments based on clients' income.
  • Provide advised sales to clients based on their needs and circumstances.
  • Support other team members as required.

Requirements:

  • CeMAP qualification is essential.
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have some 2nd charge mortgage advisor experience.
  • Ideally working as a case manager, mortgage advisor, or underwriter currently.
