Software Engineering Manager Role

Are you a seasoned software engineering professional looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and innovative company? Harnham is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Birmingham.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in leading teams and managing projects. They will be responsible for overseeing the development of software applications, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication. The Software Engineering Manager will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality software applications
  • Oversee the development of software applications, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and effective project delivery
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them grow and develop in their careers
  • Develop and implement software engineering best practices and standards

Requirements:

  • Strong background in software engineering, with experience in leading teams and managing projects
  • Experience in cloud-based technologies, including AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Knowledge of DevOps and architecture principles
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
