Job Title: Senior Manager, Safe Haven

Status: Regular, Full Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Safe Haven to provide leadership and vision in driving excellence in services and practices for DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society. Reporting to the Director, Settlement & Community Development, the Senior Manager is responsible for the supervision and management of programs and projects within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management: Provide strategic and values-based leadership to all managers and staff within the Community Development team, and across the department.

• Program Management: Oversee the supervision, guidance, coaching, and development of department managers; assessment of program needs; program planning and implementation; direct program management; strategic planning; preparation of funding proposals for new and existing contracts; and monitoring of emerging community needs.

• Contract Management: Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to Program Managers to ensure the appropriate program policies and procedures, tools, and operations are implemented to meet all contracted program deliverables.

• Risk Management: Be active in risk reduction and management pertaining to programs on a daily basis.

• Financial Management: Support and guide Program Managers in budget management to ensure contract deliverables are met; indicate any risk or suggested leverage points in program budgets to the Director to improve financial stability of the department.

• Collaboration and Partnerships: Represent DIVERSEcity positively and professionally in the community; participate in the Society's Strategic planning processes; keep well-informed about issues of concern to newcomers and racialized communities.

Requirements:

• University degree in social sciences or relevant post-secondary training and experience in social work, psychology, counselling, or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in organizational leadership management in a large, accredited community-based non-profit setting.

• Demonstrated proficiency in financial management, including budget creation, monitoring, and analysis.

• Ability to accurately forecast financial trends, identify areas for cost savings, and optimize resource allocation to meet organizational objectives.

• 5+ years of experience working within the settlement sector, supporting Refugee claimants and Asylum Seekers.

• Proven proposal writing skills, and intermediate/advanced knowledge of federal and provincial funding processes.

• Strong negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, and contract interpretation skills.

• Computer literacy in PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, email, and internet applications.

• Ability to act as a coach and mentor to all levels of staff and management.

• Experience in a community-based non-profit society.

• Innovative, flexible, and able to manage change and uncertainty.

• Valid BC Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
