CDM and Fire Risk Surveyor

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing is seeking a highly skilled CDM and Fire Risk Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in promoting a positive health and safety culture and ensuring compliance with statutory health and safety legislation.

• Prepare tender packages for various streams of works related to the Fire Risk Action plan.
• Undertake Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in line with the societies FRA Programme for a range of building types.
• Conduct surveys and inspections covering any part of the building fabric for a diverse range of stock, involving the use of ladders and working at height on scaffolding from time to time.
• Act as a 'competent person' in regards fire safety.
• Effectively adhere to and follow RBH's vision, mission, Corporate Strategy, and the Digital Transformation Strategy while carrying out duties.
• Actively manage and report on performance against KPIs for the relevant area.
• Develop and maintain effective internal relationships with all colleagues.
• Represent RBH externally, ensuring effective business relationships are developed and promoting the organization's profile.
• Notify the CDM and Fire Risk Manager and/or relevant Head of Service, EMT about any operational risks that could impact RBH's continued stability and viability.

• A Construction Related Degree plus 3 years Project Management experience or other recognized higher education qualification in Building and/or Construction related subject with 5 years project management experience.
• A IFE/FPA accredited FRA qualification (or willingness to work towards).
• You will hold or be working towards an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
• Recognized project management qualification.
• Knowledge and understanding of the construction sector, CDM Regs 2015, Asbestos, Housing regulator, Fire Risk, and the Management with regards to communal spaces and compartmentization.
• Knowledge and understanding of the construction sector, CDM Regs 2015, BS 9999, PAS 79 & 9980, various fire safety guidance (NFCC, ADB, RR(FS)O 2005, FS(Eng) Regs, Fire Safety Act Asbestos, Housing regulator, Fire Risk, and the Management with regards to communal spaces and compartmentation).
• Knowledge and understanding of fire safety systems (including but not limited to) fire alarms, emergency lighting, Automatic Opening Vents, and sprinkler systems.
• Positively embraces change and is adaptable to the ever-changing social housing sector.
• Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to produce documents to a professional and accurate standard.
• Effective mediation and negotiation skills to deliver positive outcomes.
